The Spotahome mobility program for postdoctoral stays is aimed at researchers in Europe. The scholarship will cover the rent of accommodation for a minimum of 3 months and a maximum of 12 months, both uninterrupted and with an endowment of up to €10,000.
Madrid, March 14, 2024.- Spotahome, the online platform for medium and long-term rentals, launches for the first time the ‘Spotahome mobility scholarship for postdoctoral stays in Europe’ program to encourage research in high-impact projects .
With the aim of promoting research without geographical restrictions, Spotahome has launched this scholarship program that seeks to facilitate access to an essential resource such as housing. “We will provide a scholarship in the form of accommodation aid for postdoctoral research projects destined for any of the more than 100 cities in which we are present. We know that accommodation can be one of the highest budget items, therefore, from Spotahome “We have decided to assume this cost for the researcher of a project with high impact on our society,” says Eduardo Garbayo, director of operations at Spotahome.
This scholarship call is aimed at researchers who have completed their Doctorate studies with the purpose of continuing and deepening their research both nationally and internationally, contributing to the development and generation of knowledge in high-impact projects. The aid will be awarded for the 2024-2025 academic year.
Payment for accommodation at destination for 1 year up to €10,000
The scholarship will cover the rental of accommodation for a period ranging from a minimum of 3 months to a maximum of 12 months, both uninterrupted, depending on the duration of the research stay at the destination. The maximum amount of the scholarship will be €10,000, an amount intended exclusively to cover the rent of accommodation during the specified period.
This scholarship is part of the company’s social responsibility initiative, specifically focused on the area of promoting mobility opportunities for students. Its objective is to facilitate access to accommodation for students and facilitate their disembarkation in a new city to develop their academic potential.
Conditions to qualify for the Spotahome scholarship
The call will be open until April 31, 2024. Criteria such as the clarity and coherence of the project proposal, the expected impact and the viability of the research will be taken into account for the award of the scholarship. The winner will be chosen by a panel made up of three members of Spotahome’s management team and two employees designated by the company.
