Jordan Spieth got past No. 12 at Augusta just fine.

With hindsight, it seems Augusta’s ghosts were merely lulling the 2015 green jacket winner into a false sense of security.

Spieth bogeyed the 14th to fall back to even. Then “Firethorn” set his scorecard aflame.

His third shot on the par-5, 530-yard 15th found water. It took Spieth three putts to finally find the hold and escape from this nightmare.

That quadruple-bogey 9 sent the former Longhorn tumbling down and down, from first to 67th.

He recovered with a birdie on No. 16 and finished par-par to card a 3-over 75.

Spieth is currently tied for 48th, six strokes behind leaders Jason Dufner and William McGirt.

Unlike last year, when he quadruple-bogeyed the 12th hole on Sunday, Spieth has time to bury these demons.

He gets a late start on Friday, teeing off at 1:41 p.m. Eastern Time with Martin Kaymer and Matthew Fitzpatrick
