The NBA All-Star break is considered by the league to be the half-way mark of the regular season. After a week off, the Portland Trail Blazeres will resume play on Thursday, February 23 in Orlando against the Magic.
The Trail Blazers (23-33) are currently in 10th place in the Western Conference standings and just two games back of the 8th seed. Portland trails the Utah Jazz, Oklahoma City Thunder and the Denver Nuggets in the Northwest Division standings.
The Trail Blazers made a significant move prior to this month’s trade deadline. Portland sent center Mason Plumlee and a 2018 second round pick to the Denver Nuggets in exchange for center Jusuf Nurkic and a 2017 first round pick. The trade gives Portland three first round picks in the upcoming NBA draft.
