AKRON, Ohio – Investigators are searching for a man who is charged with murder in a suspected domestic violence shooting that happened Tuesday in Akron.
Duane M. Lucas, 29, of Akron, is charged in the shooting that killed Brittany Littlejohn, police said in a news release.
Detectives said Tuesday that they suspect the shooting was related to domestic violence. They have not said how Lucas knew Littlejohn.
Littlejohn, 31, was shot several times just after 10:30 a.m. at her house on Romig Road near Kendale Drive. Officers found her on a patio and she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Detectives obtained a warrant for Lucas’ arrest, but he has not been taken into custody, police said.
Lucas was sentenced to two years in prison after being found guilty of domestic violence in 2011, Summit County Common Pleas Court records show. Lucas was also convicted of domestic violence and criminal damaging in 2008, records show.
His criminal history also includes previous convictions for drug-related charges, records show.
Lucas is described as being 5-foot-8 and approximately 247 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. He should be considered armed and dangerous, police said.
