City police said a 41-year-old man was injured in a shooting Tuesday in East Baltimore.

Officers were called at 12:50 p.m. to the 2000 block of Robb Street, where they found a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the upper and lower body. He was taken to an area hospital and is expected to survive.

Police said the victim was approached by two unidentified suspects when they drew their handguns and began shooting at him, knocking him to the ground. The suspects then continued to shoot at the victim, police said, striking him multiple times.

The suspects fled in an unknown direction.
