Four families were displaced Sunday morning after a fire ravaged an eight-unit apartment building in Slatington.
The fire broke out around 5:30 a.m. in the the 100 block of Hillcrest Lane and firefighters had brought it under control by about 7 a.m.
One apartment was destroyed by fire and three others were destroyed by water and/or smoke damage. There were no reported injuries.
Four families were left homeless and are being assisted by the American Red Cross of the Greater Lehigh Valley.
Residents told 69News WFMZ-TV News the fire started in an apartment bedroom. Fire Chief Jason Nicholas could not be reached for further information.
The blaze remains under investigation. Firefighters from departments across Lehigh, Northampton and Carbon counties responded to the call.
