One person is dead and three others were injured in a double motorcycle crash in Orange County Saturday, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Michelle Denmark, 49, was riding on the back of 52-year-old Luis Fratta’s motorcycle as they drove east on Colonial Drive near Christmas, said highway patrol Sgt. Kim Montes.
As the motorcycle in front of them, which was also carrying two people, slowed to make a right turn on Cupid Avenue about 5:15 p.m., Fratta didn’t slow down, troopers said.
Fratta, of Cocoa, tried to avoid a collision, but ended up hitting the back left side of the bike in front of them, Montes said.
Denmark, of Mims, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Fratta was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center with serious injuries. The two people on the second bike, who were from Titusville, had minor injuries but were not hospitalized, troopers said.
Troopers are still investigating. No charges have been filed in the crash.
