A lucky gamer received Nintendo’s new console ahead of its international launch thanks to a shipping error.

The youngster said he had been sent the Nintendo Switch as a mistake on Thursday, sending the gaming community into a meltdown.

The console’s official launch date is March 3, but that didn’t stop a US distributor from sending out the device prematurely.

The recipient stuck a picture of the Switch up on gamer forum NeoGaf and, after he was accused of fakery, he later uploaded a video demonstrating how the top-secret console works.

Nintendo has invited journalists to preview the devices, but other than its main components, little has been reported on the Switch’s graphics and interface.

It’s already been widely reported that the bulk is made up of an iPad-like gadget which slides into a docking system that connects to your TV at home for the big screen experience.

There are also a pair of controller pads, known suggestively as “Joy-Con” controllers.

They attach to either side of the Switch itself or can be detached from the console when docked or when utilizing the tablet portion’s kickstand.

In the clip, which has gone viral overnight, the lucky gamer revealed how to detach the side controllers and set up your online profile.

He can be seen tapping to enter the Nintendo eShop, but unfortunately for the tens of thousands of viewers, a system update is necessary to view any of the upcoming games.

The rest of the world will have to wait for another two weeks to get their hands on the device which costs $299.99 for the most basic console.
