EUGENE, Ore. — The Oregon Ducks can turn it on in a hurry.
Colorado certainly hit the floor at Knight Arena Saturday afternoon with an upset-minded attitude, but the Buffaloes simply couldn’t keep pace with the seventh-ranked Ducks, who pulled away for a 101-73 Pac-12 Conference victory.
Both teams started off red-hot from the floor, with Oregon knocking down its first five 3-point attempts. Yet the Buffs weathered the host’s hot start and actually led 25-23 after a pair of free throws from freshman Deleon Brown with 9 minutes, 45 seconds remaining in the first half.
That, however, would be the extent of the highlights for the Buffs. Oregon outscored CU 22-7 over the remainder of the first half, closing the opening frame with 10 consecutive points. The Ducks proceeded to open the second half with a 19-2 run and never looked back.
Oregon shot .576 from the field, a season-high for a CU opponent. Dillon Brooks paced the Ducks with 23 points and Dylan Ennis added 20.
