The relationship between a sex-starved cooking teacher and a teen student went from innocent to illicit — all because of a peck on the cheek, according to reports.
According to the boy, the heated relationship with 46-year-old culinary arts teacher Nichole Noel Thiel began in 2015, when he one day after class saw she was upset and crying, and tried to comfort her by giving her a hug, KXLY.com reported.
During the encounter at Lake Pend Oreille High School, Thiel then kissed the 16-year-old on the cheek– and before long, the pair started conversing over private messages on Facebook.
Over 2015 Christmas break, Thiel allegedly picked up the boy at his father’s home and took him back to her house — where she admitted that she hadn’t had sex in six years. She then offered to give the boy a back massage, and the two had sex, according to the report.
Police opened a probe into the matter when the boy told a school counselor that he and Thiel had sex at her Sandpoint condo in December 2015.
The student claims that the two only had sex once, but added that Thiel did recently contact him and offered to write him a letter of recommendation for college, according to KXLY.com.
Thiel, currently a vice principal and athletic director at Coeur d’Alene Charter Academy, has been charged with sexual battery and is due back in court on March 1.
She has been placed on administrative leave from her vice principal job.
