Have you ever been told you are good snuggler? Are you looking for a part-time gig that allows you to use your skills while potentially helping other people feel at least a twinge of happiness? Do you understand why you will not be allowed to accept tips for your cuddling services?

If you answered yes to the above questions, you might want to apply to be part of Portland’s team of professional cuddlers, run by Samantha Hess, the owner of the famous cuddle studio, Cuddle Up To Me, which operates on East Burnside.

Hess, 33, has been received national attention for her cuddle shop, even appearing on “America’s Got Talent.”

On Friday, Hess tweeted that she is hiring.

We’re hiring! Apply now.

So what does it take to be part of the crew? First, you have to understand what Cuddle Up To Me offers: “fully clothed, completely platonic cuddle sessions, with physical touch allowed in places it would be appropriate to touch a child,” according to the information posted about applying to work with them.

The idea with pro cuddling is that “when we each feel so fulfilled in our own sense of self we are much more driven and able to give back to those around us.”

Hess believes that platonic cuddling helps people feel safe, respected, accepted and loved.

Cuddling is totally nonsexual and all sessions are recorded.

The pay is $20 an hour when you’re cuddling and $10 when you aren’t cuddling. To work at Cuddle Up To Me, you need to take a 40 hour training, put on by the studio. Sound like your dream job? You can apply here.
