A new Mills 50 area eatery plans to bring lobster rolls and fish and chips to the restaurant district east of downtown Orlando.

Colonial Lobster is planning for a mid-April opening slinging New England-style lobster rolls, small bites, fish and chips and craft beer.

It will be at 1225 E Colonial Drive, just up the street from King Bao, another new fast casual restaurant started by the same team.

Colonial Lobster is the latest iteration from the crew that helped put together King Bao on Mills Ave., which slings the Asian steam bun sandwiches filled with various meats and other fillings.

Hoi Nguyen helped his brother Vic start King Bao last year. Hoi Nguyen, who has helped on the business side of the operation, is now working with friends and restaurant vets Alexander Moroto and Aiy Saysavanh on Colonial Lobster.

“With 2,000 square feet and ample parking, we will be able to accommodate large hungry crowds for the already popular Mills 50, Milk district and downtown customers,” Hoi Nguyen said in an email.

It will also be a few doors down from Mamak Asian Street Food, another upstart fast casual restaurant east of downtown.

Hoi said his brother, a 17-year restaurant veteran, is helping with the menu at the new Colonial Lobster restaurant.
