Loop 410 is closed at Vance Jackson due to a major accident.

A man killed in a Tuesday accident that left his passenger critically injured has been identified by the Bexar County Medical Examiner.

John Mosley, 69, was driving eastbound at about 8 p.m. on Northwest Loop 410 approaching Vance Jackson which was partially shut down because of an accident, according to a San Antonio Police Department report.

The Texas Department of Transportation posted that the right lanes were blocked, slowing down traffic as it was moving into the left lanes, police said.

Mosley was driving in the right lanes moving past the slow traffic until he cut across several lanes, entering the traffic, investigators said.

That’s when he rear-ended a Nissan Frontier, losing control of his own vehicle before it was rear-ended by a Ford F-150

Mosley died in the collision, police said. His passenger, not identified in the police report, was taken to University Hospital in critical condition.

No criminal charges are expected to be filed on the other drivers, investigators said.
