LINDEN — A fire at an an abandoned warehouse that broke out late Wednesday and suspended NJ Transit service for hours was brought under control by firefighters early Thursday, according to a report.
There were no injuries, NBCNewYork.com said.
Hazardous materials caught fire at the warehouse on West Elizabeth Street just after 10 p.m. The fire went to three alarms in about 90 minutes before being knocked down by 4:30 a.m.
News 12 reported the building is a vacant factory.
NJ Transit said service returned to normal just after 4 a.m. after having been suspended between Metropark and Newark Penn Station. Trains bypassed the Linden station while firefighter worked to contain the fire.
Investigators are trying to determine what caused the fire.
