The community is invited to Glenbard District 87’s centennial celebration of choir and art on Tuesday, Feb. 21, at Glenbard East High School. This centennial special event will feature the efforts of choir and art students from all four Glenbard high schools.
The art show begins at 3 p.m. in the auditorium foyer at Glenbard East, and choir concert begins at 7:30 p.m. Reserve concert tickets at gemusic.org.
This special event will feature 100 pieces of art celebrating 100 years of Glenbard District 87 and the world premiere of District 87 commissioned choral work, “”We Are,” by Michael Engelhardt. Engelhardt will be at Glenbard East to conduct the piece, which was composed using a combination of text from the four schools’ traditional songs.
The concert will involve every student enrolled in a choral class in Glenbard — that’s more than 500 singers.
