BERNE — A pair of Berne-Knox-Westerlo School retirees were recognized Wednesday for their work and dedication to the community during the Albany County Executive’s Citizen of the Month ceremony.

For nearly 20 years, retired teacher Judy Tambasco and retired nurse Roz Moser have helped maintain The 1000 Book Child program to give children an array of books to read in their early learning years.

County Executive Daniel P. McCoy honored the women in a ceremony at the school.
