SAN ANTONIO — Police are searching for two suspects who robbed an East Side Church’s Chicken Tuesday and may be connected to another robbery at the same chain last week.

Officers responded to the Church’s Chicken in the 1200 block of Steves Avenue around 1 p.m.

Detectives and officers at the scene declined to provide any details, but did confirm that two suspects, who were armed, robbed the restaurant.

One of the suspects was armed with a handgun. He held up the cashier while the other suspect stole money from the register.

The suspects in the Thursday robbery were described as a black man and a Hispanic man. One of them was wearing a bandanna, and the other was wearing a hoodie.

The two men matched the description of two suspects who robbed a Church’s Chicken in the 1300 block of South W.W. White Road on Thursday.

“It’s the same guys,” said a detective, as he walked away to a nearby store to investigate further.

Police at the scene said they fled the scene in a burgundy 4-door sedan.

Officers continued to investigate the robbery Tuesday afternoon.
