SAN ANTONIO — A 44-year-old teacher at Reagan High School resigned Friday after an investigation began into a text message exchange with a female student, according to the district.

The male teacher, whose name will not be released by Northeast Independent School District, allegedly exchanged inappropriate text messages with a female senior, said NEISD spokeswoman Aubrey Chancellor.

She said another student told her mom and the mother approached the school with the information. The teacher resigned in lieu of termination, Chancellor said.

Per protocol, the district has notified the Texas Education Agency about the incident. The investigation into the case is ongoing, and no charges have been filed against the teacher at this time.
