SAN ANTONIO — The 22-year-old man who police say is responsible for the fatal wreck that killed a woman and injured her daughter Sunday on the Northeast Side has been identified.

The accident occurred at about 9:15 p.m. Saturday in the 7400 block of Walzem Road, when police say Hunter Gage Carver was driving drunk and T-boned another vehicle in his white pickup before fleeing the scene on foot.

Carver was later arrested at the Glen Super Mart in the 7000 block of Walzem Road.

He faces second-degree felony charges of intoxication manslaughter and failure to stop and render aid resulting in death, as well as third-degree felony charges for intoxication assault and failure to stop and render aid causing serious bodily injury.

Milagro Cabrera, 44, the driver of the other vehicle, died of blunt force injuries. Cabrera had driven her vehicle onto Walzem Road from Congressional Boulevard. Cabrera’s teenage daughter also suffering injuries in the crash, deputies said.

If convicted, Carver faces up to 20 years in prison for each second-degree felony charge and up to 10 years in prison for each third-degree felony charge.

He is being held on an $80,000 bond.
