CLEVELAND, Oho – Focusing on megastars like Adele and Beyonce, as well as rolling out tributes to Prince and George Michael proved a success for this year’s Grammys telecast.
The four-hour show on Sunday night drew 26.05 millions viewers, up from 2016 and 2015, which drew just under 24.95 million and 25.3 million viewers, respectively. Sunday’s telecast also did well among young viewers, with more than 6.6 million viewers in the 18 to 24 demographic.
Of course, the Grammys weren’t without competition from cable. The show faced off against the returns of “The Walking Dead” and HBO’s “Girls.” Still, it appears performances and big wins for Adele and Beyonce were enough to grab big numbers.
