WASHINGTON – President Trump kicked off his Sunday morning from Florida by defending his immigration policies and bashing a federal “court breakdown.”

“The crackdown on illegal criminals is merely the keeping of my campaign promise,” Trump tweeted around 7:30 a.m. “Gang members, drug dealers & others are being removed!”

This weekend, as Trump worked from his Mar-a-lago resort, immigrant rights groups protested in Arizona, New York and elsewhere against recent deportations and immigration raids under Trump’s crackdown.

Trump also continued to push back on an appeals court’s ruling to continue halting his travel ban on citizens from seven countries and refugees.

“72% of refugees admitted into U.S. (2/3 -2/11) during COURT BREAKDOWN are from 7 countries: SYRIA, IRAQ, SOMALIA, IRAN, SUDAN, LIBYA & YEMEN.”

Trump has repeatedly questioned the judicial branch after unfavorable rulings on his travel ban, which remains on pause.

He also praised his interaction with the Japanese prime minister who had been visiting him at the “winter White House” this weekend.

“After two days of very productive talks, Prime Minister Abe is heading back to Japan,” Trump tweeted from his Palm Beach resort.

Trump couldn’t resist going after one of his favorite targets: CNN.

“While on FAKE NEWS @CNN, Bernie Sanders was cut off for using the term fake news to describe the network,” his tweet reads. “They said technical difficulties!”

The president of the United States also spent time insulting the Dallas Mavericks owner, a frequent Trump critic.

“I know Mark Cuban well,” Trump began. “He backed me big-time but I wasn’t interested in taking all of his calls. He’s not smart enough to run for president!”
