Rescue teams are searching for a snowboarder who went missing on Mount Hood on Saturday.

The 19-year-old man was reported missing on Saturday evening, said Sgt. Nathan Thompson, a spokesman for Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office. The snowboarder went out of the Timberline Ski area bounds and could not be found, Thompson said.

The missing snowboarder’s tracks went into the Little Zigzag Canyon, where people often get lost, Thompson said.

The man is an experienced snowboarder, but he only had water and beer with him, Thompson said. He does not have a cellphone, GPS or any supplies to stay in the ski area overnight, Thompson said.

The snowboarder was last seen wearing a grey and black helmet, a camouflage sweatshirt and dark pants, Thompson said.
