The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help in find a man deputies say tried to rob a Winn-Dixie store Sunday, threatening to blow up the property if demands weren’t met.

Around 8:15 p.m., deputies say a middle-aged man entered the store at 9535 Fowler Ave E in Thonotosassa and gave the manager a note, asking for an undisclosed amount of money or explosives would be set off around the building, deputies said

Deputies say the manager refused the demand and walked away, at which time the suspect fled on foot.

Deputies arrived shortly after, cleared the store, and determined it was safe to resume business.

The man was last seen wearing a camouflage print baseball cap, a light-colored T-shirt and blue jeans.
