Madison football coach John Campbell has resigned after only one season.

Assistant coach Tate DeMasco, who was the Mavericks’ offensive coordinator, will serve as acting head coach. Volleyball coach and assistant athletic coordinator Shannon Wolfe will serve as the campus’ acting athletic coordinator.

Campbell’s departure means the Mavericks in 2017 will have their third head coach in five seasons. Jim Streety retired after the 2013 season and was replaced by Mark Smith, who coached in 2014-2015 before resigning.
