A pair of Easton-area drug dealers were nabbed after selling heroin to a police informant, authorities said Tuesday.

Palmer Township and Wilson Borough police detectives in December began investigating Mazzarella and DeWitt, they said. They met with a confidential informant to discuss the pair and learned Mazzarella was staying with DeWitt in Forks Township.
Between Dec. 20 and Dec. 23, police and members of the Northampton County Drug Task Force worked with the informant to set up a controlled buy of heroin. The informant set up the transaction by calling Mazzarella on his cellphone, police said.
The informant set up a meeting with Mazzarella, who normally brings DeWitt with him, in the 2400 block of Butler Street in the borough, according to police. Police kept constant surveillance as a blue Chevrolet Cobalt driven by DeWitt entered the location with Mazzarella sitting in the front passenger seat.
The informant got into the backseat of the Chevy and exchanged cash for heroin, police said. The vehicle then headed east on Butler Street.
Both are charged with criminal conspiracy to commit possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance. Mazzarella additionally is charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, criminal use of a communication facility and possession of a controlled substance.
Both were arraigned before District Judge Richard Yetter III, who set bail at $125,000 for Mazzarella and $65,000 for DeWitt, respectively.
In lieu of bail, Mazzarella and DeWitt were both sent to Northampton County Prison.
