Cathy McMorris Rodgers is a nice, pleasing person. And also nonconfrontational to a fault. She rarely gives interviews or speaks to constituents. She failed to land the new Air Force mission at Fairchild because she can’t pull the strings in D.C., and no one here at home made a fuss.

She does, however, do what she’s told so as to avoid confrontation. She obediently raises funds for Tea Party members in the South, who have nothing to do with us or our values. She shamelessly votes to increase the deficit, without concern that it’s the opposite position she took two years ago. She casually votes to increase costs on Medicaid recipients – despite about 30 percent of our district being covered by Medicaid.

So here’s the deal: We have to tell her what we care about. She works for us and is in a unique position to do good work for beautiful District 05. If we’re not voicing our opinions, she’s going to do what she’s told to do by people who don’t actually care about us.

Tweet, write a letter or speak out. She’s a follower. Make sure she’s following us.
