You find out your stuck in Sacramento for the rest of the season, you are bound to get a little testy.
Kings GM Vlade Divac told ESPN on Monday the team had no intention of trading star forward DeMarcus Cousins this season.
“We’re not trading DeMarcus … We hope he’s here for a long time,” Divac said of the All-Star, who is under contract through 2018.
Later that evening, the Kings took on the Bulls and lost, 112-107, in a defeat that was not without drama.
At the end of the third quarter, tensions rose as former Kings player/current Bulls point guard Rajon Rondo engaged referee Leroy Richardson arguing a call that went against Chicago.
What ensued was chaos — watch as Cousins enters the fray and gets physical with a Bulls assistant coach:
Cousins’ second technical foul came with one second left in the game. It was his 16th of the season (it’s only February!), thus, per NBA rules, the All-Star will be suspended for the Kings’ next game vs. Boston unless one of the two is rescinded.
