Early Tuesday morning a female pedestrian in west Santa Rosa was hit by a vehicle and killed, according to Santa Rosa pllice.

The West Steele Lane collision happened just after 5:35 a.m., said Sgt. Dave Linscomb.

Police issued an alert for drivers to use other routes as they’ve closed West Steele Lane in both directions from Apple Valley Lane to Northcoast Street for the investigation.

The driver, traveling in a white pickup, stopped after the collision, Linscomb said.
