A man died in North Portland Monday morning after a box truck hit him, police said.
Emergency crews responded at 9:07 a.m. to the 7600 block of North Interstate Avenue and found a man dead from his injuries. Police believe the man was on a bike when the crash occurred.
The driver of the box truck remained at the scene and is cooperating with police, Simpson said. The Traffic Division’s Major Crash Team has begun its investigation.
The northbound lanes of Interstate Avenue will be closed for several hours while they investigate, Simpson said. MAX service and southbound traffic is open.
