Tom Brady and the New England Patriots trail the Atlanta Falcons 28-12 in the fourth quarter of Super Bowl LI on Sunday at NRG Stadium in Houston.

Stephen Gostkowski kicked a 33-yard field goal to cut the Patriots’ deficit to 16 points with 9:44 remaining.

Brady threw a 5-yard touchdown pass to James White to cut their deficit in the third quarter. Matt Ryan threw a 6-yard touchdown pass to Tevin Coleman to give the Falcons a 28-3 lead earlier in the quarter.

Ryan hit Coleman in the flat, and the Falcons running back beat linebacker Rob Ninkovich to the pylon. The score capped an 85-yard drive in eight plays, fueled by a 35-yard pass to Taylor Gabriel.

Ryan, the NFL regular-season MVP, is 12 of 14 for 193 yards with two touchdowns.
