PARMA, Ohio – University Hospitals has appointed Peter U. Bergmann, FACHE, as the new president of UH Parma Medical Center. His appointment will be effective March 6.

Bergmann has served as President/CEO of Sisters of Charity Hospital in Buffalo, New York since 2006.

“Peter’s collaborative leadership style and relationship-built successes will benefit our patients as we continue to expand and align UH’s West Side service offerings,” said Richard A. Hanson, President, UH Community Hospitals and Ambulatory Network.

“He and his team will advance the hospital’s role as a valued resource for West Side communities with a focus on physician recruitment, quality of care, patient experience and employee and physician engagement,” Hanson said.

A member of the American College of Healthcare Executives, Bergmann has been active on numerous professional association and community boards. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration/Health Planning and Management from Alfred University in Alfred, New York. He obtained a Master of Health Administration from Cornell University in Ithaca, New York.
