A Fifth Third Bank branch in Elgin was robbed Friday by a man the FBI believes may have held up a bank last month in Woodridge.

The man went into the 1645 Larkin Ave. bank at about 5:15 p.m. and demanded cash, officials said. He did not display a weapon.

The suspect is described as being in his mid-30 with a thin to medium build and standing about 5-foot-8, officials said. He was wearing black sunglasses, a black coat, blue jeans, a black shirt, and brown shoes with white soles.

FBI officials believe the man also robbed a Fifth Third Bank branch at 2323 63rd St. in Woodridge on Jan. 12.

The FBI is coordinating the investigation with assistance from Elgin detectives.
