Lake-effect snow will affect portions of the western Adirondacks and western Mohawk Valley into the weekend, the National Weather Service said.

The lake-effect snow band is expected to extend farther inland today and remained focused in the vicinity of the Route 28 corridor much of the day, reaching the vicinity of Route 8 by late in the day, NWS reports.

Here’s the full forecast:

Friday: Isolated snow showers. Partly sunny, with a high near 28. Light west wind increasing to 8 to 13 mph in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 20%

Tonight: Scattered snow showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 15. West wind 8 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Saturday: Isolated snow showers before noon. Partly sunny, with a high near 29. West wind 8 to 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Saturday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 16. West wind 5 to 7 mph becoming south after midnight.

Sunday: A slight chance of snow showers after noon. Cloudy, with a high near 35. South wind 8 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Sunday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 24.
