Ben & Jerry’s is bringing its Vermont-crafted ice cream and cool treats to Park Avenue.

A new Ben & Jerry’s scoop shop is set to open in early March at 521 Park Ave. in Winter Park, the first location  north of the tourist corridor.

The scoop shop on Park Avenue, just north of Rollins College, is replacing the former Smart Coffee HD shop that closed in June.

“We’ve been working on something to expand, but we haven’t been able to find the right spot,” said Tareq Qarman, CEO of Ben & Jerry’s Orlando.

Qarman said he is next looking at a location in the Lake Nona area, but hasn’t finalized a lease yet.

Performance Food Group of Richmond, Va., has bought the wholesale operations of Orlando’s Bar Harbor Seafood and its warehouse near Orange Blossom Trail and Sand Lake Road.

Bar Harbor has 152 employees and sources seafood for sale to restaurants, retailers and distributors.

The parties did not disclose terms of the deal.

Founder Jeff Hazell will remain president and the employees will continue working at the 41,000-square-foot warehouse on Premier Row.

Last year revenues were $73 million.

Two Mount Dora restaurants were temporarily closed by health inspectors last week because of roaches, according to state reports.

Las Palmas Cuban Restaurant in downtown Mount Dora closed for the evening on Jan. 25 after a hot water heater explosion brought insects into the building, owner Edna Gonzalez said.

Inspectors found three dead roaches near the water heater during the inspections.

Nearby Anthony’s Pizza at 17195 U.S. 441 was closed Jan. 26 after an inspector found roaches, including insects in the dining room and above the hand wash sink.

Owner Jad White, who also owns a restaurant by the same name in Eustis, said he had already employed a pest control crew to take care of roaches.

The restaurants both reopened the following day.

The oft-delayed and totally revamped Planet Hollywood Observatory has opened at Disney Springs dining and entertainment district.

Planet Hollywood, closed for nearly a year, is one of many spots at Disney Springs getting a revamp over the last few years.

It also has a remodeled menu with burger and sandwich selection curated by celebrity food personality Guy Fieri.

With the opening, Planet Hollywood has changed from the design of a 90s era, globe-shaped building to look like a turn-of-the-20th-century observatory.

The renovation has cost the Orlando-based company about $25 million, owner Robert Earl said.
