Found property, Trenton Trail: A man walking his dog at 4 p.m. Jan. 23 found a pouch containing miscellaneous jewelry on the treelawn near the corner of Trenton and Gerald. He took the pouch and its contents to the police station, where they remain waiting for the owner to claim them.
Theft, Old Pleasant Valley Road: A woman said someone entered her car and stole $50. She told police she was last in her car at about 2:30 p.m. Jan. 25. When she returned to it at 6:15 a.m. Jan. 26, she could smell the scent of a cigarette inside, but neither she nor anyone in the car smokes. She then saw cough drops she knew that were in her glove box were now on the passenger seat and floor. She checked her glove box and noticed that $45-$50 in tip money she received from her job were missing. The plastic bags that contained the rolled coins were empty on the passenger side floor. She realized someone broke into her car, although she told police she habitually locks the doors.
Police, and she, noticed there was no forced entry in to the car. She told police she threw away the empty plastic bags, not thinking they could have evidenciary value on them.
Drunken driving, Pearl Road: An officer on patrol saw a pick-up truck weave to the left and outside its marked lane at 2:51 a.m. Jan. 28. He then stopped it. The driver said he was coming from a bar and heading to his friend’s house. The officer noted the man’s speech was slurred, his eyes blood shot and had a strong odor of alcohol on him. The motorist said he had a couple of beers. He willingly got out of the truck and tried to perform field sobriety tests, which he failed. He was arrested.
Disorderly conduct, Bagley Road: Officers responded to Southwest General Health Center at 7:50 p.m. Jan. 28 and its emergency department. A nurse said that one of his patients spit in his face while the man was being treated there. The patient was later sedated. According to the staff, the patient was intoxicated. He was cited.
