A pedestrian was struck and killed by a garbage truck this morning in Bayonne, the Hudson County Sheriff’s Office confirmed this morning.
The garbage truck was traveling south on Avenue C between West 54th and West 55th streets at roughly 4:30 a.m. when the pedestrian was struck, Ch. 7 ABC News reported.
Avenue C between those two streets was closed while police investigated, the report said.
Details on the accident were not immediately available, a spokesman for the Sheriff’s Office said.
