Dubai: Three cars were burnt after a construction crane fell in the middle of Shaikh Zayed Road, injuring one person and bringing traffic to complete stop.
Teams from Dubai Police and Civil Defence are clearing the wreckage and redirecting traffic by Nasimi Tower on Shaikh Zayed Road – heading in the Abu Dhabi direction.
The injured person has been transferred to a hospital.
Firas Biel Hasa, head of operations in Dubai Civil Defense, told Gulf News that fire fighters from Satwa station rushed to the scene. “We were alerted of crane collapse on Shaikh Zayed Road. A team from Satwa fire station rushed to the scene and controlled the fire after a blaze caught three cars.”
