CAMDEN — A Camden man has admitted to fatally shooting another city resident in 2013.

Marcus Williams, 26, pleaded guilty on Monday to first degree aggravated manslaughter in the death of Rasheef Wise, 29, according to the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office.

Police say Williams shot Wise several times in a laundromat parking lot on the 3100 block of Westfield Avenue just after 11 p.m. on Sept. 2, 2013. Police found Wise lying between two cars in the lot.

Williams was initially arrested by the U.S. Marshal’s Service Regional Fugitive Task Force in January 2016 and charged with first-degree murder with bail set at $1.5 million.

Under the terms of the plea agreement, Williams will be sentenced to 20 years in state prison, according to the prosecutor’s office. He will be required to serve at least 85 percent of his sentence before he is eligible for parole.

Williams is scheduled to be sentenced on March 3 in Superior Court.
