Greensburg Road in Plum is closed near the intersection with Meyers Drive and Old Leechburg Road because a large tree fell across the road, taking down utility lines.
Plum police say the road has been closed since about 6:30 a.m. while emergency crews await utility workers to remove telephone lines entangled with the tree.
It was not immediately known when the road will reopen.
Motorists traveling to or from the New Kensington area are advised to use Route 780 through Upper Burrell.
