Despite being rebuffed in a previous trade attempt with the Cleveland Cavaliers, the New York Knicks remain persistent in their pursuit of a Kevin Love-for-Carmelo Anthony trade, according to a report Wednesday from Ramona Shelburne and Marc Stein of ESPN.com:

The New York Knicks continue to pursue Kevin Love in advance of the Feb. 23 trade deadline despite the Cleveland Cavaliers’ unwillingness to part with the All-Star forward in a deal for Carmelo Anthony, according to league sources.

Sources said the Cavaliers, meanwhile, do maintain an interest in Anthony — which would pair him with Cleveland star and close friend LeBron James — but only if a deal can be struck without the league’s reigning champions surrendering Love.

The Cavaliers, according to ESPN, brushed back the initial trade inquiry from the Knicks last week.

ESPN is reporting New York is still in conversations with the Boston Celtics and Los Angeles Clippers about a potential trade for Anthony, who has a no-trade clause and 15 percent trade kicker, but the Knicks would likely need to involve a a third or fourth team to complete a deal.

A report from The Vertical last week stated Knicks president Phil Jackson “is determined to find a destination” for Anthony, who still has two years and $54.2 million remaining on his contract İllegal Bahis following this season.

He’s averaging 22.7 points, 6.0 rebounds and 3.1 assists in his 14th NBA season.

The NBA trade deadline is Thursday, Feb. 23 at noon PT.
