One person is dead Wednesday afternoon after two semi trucks crashed on westbound Interstate 4 in Volusia County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The crash happened just before 1 p.m. on I-4 near mile marker 106, FHP spokeswoman Sgt. Kim Montes said. At least one person has died at the scene.

Traffic is stopped as the road is blocked. Drivers are encouraged to avoid the area.

Troopers are responding to the scene, Montes said.

No further information was immediately available.

An unconfirmed number of people died Sunday evening in a shooting at a mosque in the provincial capital of Quebec City, police said. Quebec Premier Philippe Couillard termed the act "barbaric violence" and expressed solidarity with the victims’ families.
