Florida State coach Jimbo Fisher is on track to enjoy National Signing Day.

The Seminoles are expected to finish ahead of all in-state schools and could land a top-three class if everything goes their way today.

We’ll be posting live updates throughout NSD, so check back often to see the latest news about FSU’s 2017 recruiting class.

Take a closer look at where the Seminoles stood entering signing day:

IN THE BAG: Florida State has already welcomed seven early-enrolled recruits from its 2017 class, headlined by the nation’s top running back recruit Cam Akers, the nation’s No. 3 defensive end Joshua Kaindoh and  the nation’s No. 4 cornerback Stanford Samuels Jr.  FSU has also replenished positions of need with depth in running backs Khalan Laborn and Zaquandre White, four-star safeties Cyrus Fagan and Hamsah Nasirildeen, and four-star quarterbacks James Blackman and Bailey Hockman in tow. Four-star receiver D.J. Matthews is also considered the nation’s best slot receiver.

UP FOR GRABS: Replacing the best running back in school history in Dalvin Cook, a defensive end that was second nationally with 16 sacks in DeMarcus Walker, one of the best offensive linemen in the Atlantic Coast Conference in Rod Johnson, and leading receiver Travis Rudolph will be no easy task for the Seminoles. The Seminoles are in the hunt for the nation’s No. 1 defensive tackle Marvin Wilson from Texas, the nation’s No. 7 defensive end in Jarez Parks, top 10 linebackers Levin Jones and Leonard Warner, top 15 receivers in Henry Ruggs III and Devonta Smith, four-star tackle Neil Farrell and four-star athlete B.J. Thompson.

OVERALL OUTLOOK: Jimbo Fisher will likely finish with another top 5 class, his sixth in seven years, on National Signing Day. Fisher is competing on a yearly basis with the likes of Alabama, Ohio State, Clemson and Michigan for the nation’s top recruits, and continues to dominate in-state schools on the recruiting trail. If the Seminoles land Wilson, Parks, Jones, Ruggs, Farrell and Thompson, Fisher’s class could finish in the top 3 behind Alabama and Ohio State.
