It should be a mainly dry, relatively mild day across New Jersey on the first day of February.
Relatively mild, breezy conditions are in store for New Jersey on Wednesday, according to AccuWeather.com.
A day after a quick moving system dropped more than two inches of snow on parts of North Jersey, the only threat of precipitation Wednesday is a slight chance of afternoon rain showers in far northwestern and southeastern parts of the state.
Otherwise, it should be a mostly cloudy day with temperatures slightly above normal.
There’s a wide disparity in temperatures as of 6:30 a.m. thanks to cold air won’t be dislodged from the state’s northern areas until mid-morning, the National Weather Service says in its morning forecast discussion.
Temps range from the low 20s in places like Walpack and Ramsey all the way Efsanebahis to 43 in South Jersey spots such as Hammonton, Upper Deerfield, Sewell and and Mullica Township, the state climatologist’s office said.
Temperatures are in the 30s in most spots, though. The normal range of temperatures on Feb. 1 is from the mid 20s to about 40.
By mid-afternoon, highs will reach 46 in Newark, 47 in Point Pleasant and 50 in Vineland. Winds of 10 to 15 mph could gust as high as 25 and make it feel a bit cooler.
There’s a slight chance of nighttime showers as temperatures dip into the 20s.
Thursday’s forecast calls for sunny skies and temps in the low 40s.
It gets chillier Friday and Saturday with highs only in the 30s, though the sun should be out both days.
Temperatures warm a bit Sunday and there’s a chance of rain in the afternoon.
