CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland Orchestra’s catalog of Brahms recordings just got a little larger.

Quietly and with little fanfare last month, a Clasart DVD of the Cleveland Orchestra performing Brahms’ “A German Requiem” with music director Franz Welser-Most hit the shelves at Severance Hall and elsewhere.

As of early February, the disc is available for immediate purchase only in the Cleveland Orchestra store, for $30. Online, at amazon.com, the recording is available for pre-order at a cost of $34, with Bahis Siteleri a shipping date of Feb. 24.

The disc, taped live at the Abbey of St. Florian last August, complements the group’s recording last year of Brahms’ complete works for orchestra, and further expands a video catalog that until recently consisted primarily of Bruckner Symphonies.

In addition to the Cleveland Orchestra and conductor Welser-Most, the “German Requiem” performance features the Wiener Singverein (the concert choir of the Musikverein in Vienna, Austria) as well as soprano Hanna Elisabeth-Muller and baritone Simon Keenlyside.
