A 36-year-old Moore Township man was arrested Tuesday for allegedly holding down his girlfriend with his hand on her neck, choking her.
Township police responded about 5:40 a.m. Monday to a disturbance at the home of Troy J. Weber in the 3100 block of West Dannersville Road, according to court records.
Weber told police his girlfriend had “flipped out” and, after the two yelled at each other, she left the house and drove off, records say.
Police said they were called at 7:12 a.m. to contact Blue Mountain Health System in Palmerton, where Weber’s girlfriend had sought care and told a nurse she wanted to press charges against him because of the incident.
Officer Jason Gianatiempo met about noon Monday with the victim at police headquarters, where Sekabet she relayed that an argument with Weber turned violent and he had choked her, according to court records.
Weber allegedly threatened to “shut you … up for good” while choking her with one hand and holding his other hand in a fist near her head. The victim maintained consciousness but was unable to breathe or swallow, according to police. She then fled the house and drove herself to the hospital, records say.

Weber was arraigned Tuesday afternoon before District Judge Robert Hawke on a felony county of strangulation, in addition to misdemeanor terroristic threats and simple assault and summary harassment.
He was sent to Northampton County Prison in lieu of $35,000 bail and faces a preliminary hearing tentatively scheduled Feb. 7 before Hawke.
