The Oregon Ducks entered Signing Day eve with four defensive line commitments, but no true pass-rusher.
That remained the case Tuesday evening, as Rivals three-star defensive end/outside linebacker DeMarco Artis committed to Baylor over Oregon:

The 6-foot-3, 218-pound athlete, out of Seminole (Sanford, Florida), seemed like a longshot to most a month ago, as he was firmly committed to the Florida State Seminoles.
However, Artis and the ACC powerhouse program parted ways in late January, opening the door for a new leader to emerge.
The dynamic pass-rusher set official visits to Baylor and Oregon, giving the Ducks a final Betlike look just two days before announcing his decision.
However, it wasn’t enough, as Artis committed to the Bears.
Despite the miss, Oregon remains in the mix for a number of highly-regarded prospects with less than 24 hours until the start of Signing Day, highlighted by U.S. Army All-American cornerback Deommodore Lenoir, Under Armour All-American tight end Josh Falo, USC linebacker/safety commit Juliano Falaniko and offensive tackle George Moore, the nation’s No. 1 junior college offensive lineman.
The Signing Day fireworks will have to wait a few hours longer.
