A Brooklyn woman is asking a judge to stop the eviction of her beloved pit-bull Mindy, arguing that the dog gives her the “courage” to manage her cancer and depression.
Susana Gonzalez says she’s entitled to keep the brown-and-while pit-bull in her East New York home because she is a service dog.
But a neighbor at their New York City Housing Authority building accused the 64-pound pooch of attacking her chihuahua and now the city wants the dog out.
“Mindy is all I have,” Gonzalez, 48, told The Post in a teary interview from her apartment Tulipbet in the Penn-Wartmann Houses.
Gonzalez was prescribed Mindy when the pet was just a puppy to help treat her ailments.
In May Providence Rodriguez, who lives three floors above Gonzalez, said Mindy attacked her chihuahua Blade. Rodriguez reported the incident and the building’s managers determined Mindy was dangerous.
They ordered Gonzalez to get rid of her “immediately.”
Rodriguez, meanwhile, told The Post she was happy about the pending eviction of the pit-bull.
“I don’t know if that dog’s going to bite somebody else,” she said.
Reps for NYCHA did not immediately return to requests for comment.
