BBVA and Santander join the CEOE in rejecting Milei's statements

BBVA and Santander have also joined what was expressed by the president of the CEOE, Antonio Garamendi, who this Monday expressed his rejection of the statements made over the weekend by the president of Argentina, Javier Milei, about the president of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, and his wife, Begoña Gómez.

Specifically, BBVA has indicated that it “fully subscribes” to the statements of Garamendi, who has indicated that the statements made by Milei were in a political act totally unrelated to the business meeting that was held on Saturday.

“As the representative of the Spanish companies has stated, we deeply reject the statements,” BBVA indicates.

For their part, Banco Santander has also aligned themselves with what was expressed by Garamendi, who indicated that in Milei’s meeting with Spanish companies they talked exclusively about the economy and business projects. While the Argentine president asked what could be done to improve the situation, the companies raised their problems.

On behalf of Banco Santander, its global CEO, Héctor Grisi, attended the meeting with Milei, while on BBVA’s behalf, the global head of country monitoring, Jorge Sáenz-Azcúnaga, attended.
