MADRID, 2 Feb. (EUROPA PRESS) –
Renfe has already begun the training of the drivers and intervention personnel on board the new S106 trains (commercially known as the Avril de Talgo trains), which will arrive in Asturias and Galicia before next April.
The public operator has announced in a statement that the driving agents of the different residences are already preparing to handle this new material, with which it will add trains with more seat capacity to its fleet.
This material will allow us to offer more frequencies, a reduction in travel times, as well as the arrival of the AVE and Avlo to new destinations, such as Asturias, Galicia or Castilla y León.
The training is currently being carried out with staff from the residences in A Coruña, Ourense, Madrid (Fuencarral and Atocha) or Barcelona, as well as from Oviedo and León starting in the coming days. Machinist training courses (including theory and practice) will be taught gradually.
Renfe has also launched the training of on-board intervention personnel, who will serve on the new S106 trains during their commercial debut. Once Renfe receives the new trains and begins to circulate with them, the company will progressively implement new commercial services.
An increase in seats (the capacity of these trains almost doubles that of those currently in circulation) and more frequencies will be accompanied by a further reduction in travel times.
