– The Otermans Institute launches the world’s first course powered by AI and taught entirely by AI professors
LONDON, Dec. 21, 2023 /PRNewswire/ — Following the successful public launch of the world’s digital human teacher in August 2023, the Otermans Institute (OI) has taken a bold step in transforming the educational landscape, as its teachers powered by AI they now teach a complete 9-lesson course at universities and institutions on 4 continents.
Their AI teachers not only teach and test students, but also create the course content. The new approach represents a paradigm shift in the very essence of teaching and learning.
Thanks to OIAI technology – the refined linguistic model developed by the same organization – virtual and digital education can now transcend the limitations of traditional one-way instruction and become a dynamic, two-way conversation between students and their AI teachers.
The Arab American University (Palestine), Bahria University (Pakistan), Ibn Haldun University (Turkey), the Catholic University of East Africa (Kenya) and the University of the Americas (Chile), have been the latest pioneers to join this educational revolution, setting a precedent for other institutions around the world.
The founders of the Otermans Institute, Dr. Pauldy Otermans and Dev Aditya, commented: “We will expand our AI-powered teaching capabilities to 40 universities by September 2024. Additionally, we are conducting tests on how to integrate OIAI into existing digital learning platforms.” .
With over 80% of students having completed the OIAI course as of November 2023, and a student satisfaction rate of 94%, OIAI’s impact on digital education is promising.
To date, OI has supported more than 35,000 learners, collaborating with governments and UN agencies in 13 countries to deliver training and education using AI technology and bringing professional development skills to the most disadvantaged areas.
Currently, the Otermans Institute has deployed its AI teachers to support the Women in STEAM initiative in Kenya and Zambia. “Africa is hungry for emerging technologies and there is no reason for Africans to be left behind in this fast-paced 21st century economy. As founders of the Women in STEAM initiative and in partnership with the Otermans Institute, we have put in place “We connect educators and students with AI teachers, and this has been a rewarding experience. We hope to continue influencing more African educators to embrace emerging technologies like AI,” said Caroline Nyaga.
The digital human teachers developed by the Otermans Institute have a human-like appearance and voice, allowing them to seamlessly interact with students using voice and text input. Dev Aditya, co-founder of Otermans, said: “Through conversations with students, our AI teachers can adapt their classes to the individual needs of students, answering their questions in real time and offering them personalized feedback.”
